Explore Ontology
Search structured objects, filter by type, and inspect relationships.
Ontology is for exploring the named objects and relationships your organization uses to describe its information. It complements Drive: Drive contains files, while Ontology lets you find a specific object and see how it connects to others.
Find an object
- Open Ontology from the product menu.
- Search for a name or term. Results update as you type; use Search to submit immediately.
- Choose a type filter to narrow the results. You can also sort by number of links or include proposed objects when those controls are available.
- Select a result to inspect its details and relationships. Use the list view for scanning results or the graph/split view to follow connections.
If a search returns nothing, clear the type filter and try a broader term. If the graph is unavailable on your device, continue in list view. What you can see depends on the ontology data and your access. This guide covers exploration; changes to object definitions or relationships require the appropriate management workflow and permissions.
